Getting Hitched? Here is what you should do to plan Wedding like a pro. 

I have been married for 2 years and I never really got a chance to share all my wedding moments. I grew up dreaming of a fairytale wedding and in search of prince charming. There were cupcakes of happiness exploding inside me when the D-day was finally fixed. 

But I am sure everyone has wedding jitters. During my wedding preps, I was bridezilla on everyone around. Wedding planning took a toll on me. Honestly, I was going through terrible mood swings and did not have too many people around for preparations and coordination. I got married in Amritsar, my hometown while my fiancee was in Mumbai. 

Well, I have some nifty tips for you. Here is what you should do to plan it like a pro:

- My photographer Sneha Sedani who is more like my friend now and makes me look pretty in all pictures did a great job. She is fun, young and innovative. Please check out her work on Rhythmic Focus. It was fun capturing the moments before the D-Day madness. So my fiancé booked a room for the proposal at Palladium hotel and we planned to do the shoot on the premises.

I didn't go for an exorbitantly priced wedding photographers who are known for their surreal images and over-the-top pictures with a lot of drama. But however, we did everything from lovey-dovey pictures to the use of fun props. 

- From the wedding trousseau to the guest lists and shopping there is so much to do. Make time to workout or indulge in any form of fitness activity. Focus on nutrition but do not starve yourself. This will keep you sane and you will get the burst of endorphins aka happy hormones. 

- Before you splurge on you’re wedding outfit, attend all the exhibitions and wedding markets around. This will give you an idea of what is trending and what is not. 

- Makeup is an essential part of the wedding trousseau. But accordingly, include some must-have makeup essentials as a part of your beauty arsenal. Your makeup kit should include BB cream, foundation, eye pencil, mascara, concealer and your go-to lip colour. You could also invest in skin-care which will go a long way. 

- Shoes are so important! I would personally recommend wearing platform heels or wedges. They look sassy and pack the comfort quotient as well. Keep the location of your functions in mind, as you definitely do not want stilettos burying into the soil or sand. 

- Give priority to the fabric. Pick the lightweight ones if you feel uncomfortable. You could opt for the heavy tops or embellished blouse. I like the drama on clothes so it is okay if you opt for heavy lehengas. Shimmer, shine and tassels are raging this season. 

- My wedding decor was done by PomPom events and makeup was done by celebrity makeup artist Shahid Naar. Pom Pom is a decor company that specializes in creating immersive event experiences. From planning to décor, and final touch up. They customised and created an interesting photobooth for us. 

- You can also go through various wedding planning platforms. WedMeGood is one of them. It has a list of everything from wedding venues, honeymoon destinations, wedding photographers, vendors, wedding locations, outfits, to makeup and hair.
