Indian Fashion Blog: Travel Diaries Vol 7 - Spectacular Dubai

They say, traveling  brings about a sense of joy and positive energies into one’s life. While I am still working on my Australia Diaries, I couldn’t miss publishing this post, especially when the most popular shopping festival, known as the Dubai Shopping Festival has begun.
Dubai is a pleasurable experience and you can enjoy dining above the clouds at Atmosphere or visit the Royal Mirage. The hotels here are quite magnificent, akin to a dreamland for some. The city has everything from the world’s biggest Ferris wheel to Burj Khalifa, rumoured to be inspired by the Empire Stat e Building, New York. V and I chose Emirates airlines from Mumbai, which takes about 3.5 hours to reach Dubai. December and January is a good time to visit Dubai for the holiday since it is winter time and the weather is perfect.

Fun facts:
1. Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates, well-known for luxury shopping, its ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife. You can also explore and enjoy the man-made islands along with the beautiful Atlantis, the Palm Resort that offers a scenic view of the marine life.

2. Burj Khalifa, an 830metre tall tower dominates the skyline. At its foot, lies the Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music.

Travelling tips:
- If you plan to visit Dubai during the end of December, then ensure you make your bookings beforehand.
- I loved the desert surroundings. Dune bashing, camel ride, belly dancing shows, camping and walking in the middle of the desert is an experience that you will cherish forever.
- Dubai is a shopper's paradise and you will surely enjoy it. You can visit the Mall Of Emirates, the Ibn Battuta or even factory outlets in order to make the most of your shopping time.
- Besides shopping, you can also visit the Aquarium and Souk Al Arab. Do not skip visiting the magical fountains which begin during evening time.  There is a skating rink as well.
- We visited the Mall Of Emirates and Dubai Marina Mall, twice. I shopped a lot but I could have planned it better.
- Splurge on gourmet food in lavish places with picturesque views.
- Protein supplements are economical, half the cost you can avail in India. Therefore, hubby and I brought home, several boxes of Whey Protein.
- If you appreciate architecture and lavish dining, then make a reservation at Burj-al-Arab, a seven star hotel in Dubai. An afternoon tea is a must here.
- Be wary of the cab fares. It is pretty expensive and you can make use of Dubai Metro services.

The list of things you must do as a tourist:
- The Burj Khalifa tour or dine at the Atmosphere Lounge above the clouds. Make sure you get your reservations a week prior to the plan.
- Desert Safari should be in your priority list.
- Spend a day at the Atlantis. Book the adventure trip or go swimming with the dolphins.
- Jumeriah Beach Residence Walk and Dubai Marina is also something to look forward to.
- Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountains. Dine at the Souk with a view of the Burj Khalifa and the Magical Fountains.
- Pay a visit to Madinet Jumeirah Resort, known as the Venice of the Gulf.
- Do not miss the Dubai Shopping Festival, on until the 1st of February, 2016.
