Indian Fashion Blog: Travel Diaries vol 5 - 48 Hours in Singapore

I will be rolling out travel and weddings posts alternatively now in full swing. I like the fact how my travel and culinary escapades have made me such a storyteller!

As you know I got hitched and had travel plans immediately post wedding. So we took a holiday to Australia and made a halt in Singapore for 2 days. We had a flight from Delhi in the night and landed their early morning.

Accommodation -
Singapore is all about towering high rise buildings, asian food and high end shopping malls. We booked the stay with Hilton hotel on Orchard road. While in zombie state, after mad wedding parties and functions (posts will be out soon) we stretched and snoozed till afternoon after a quick breakfast of eggs and some fruits. Hilton Hotel on Orchard road is welcoming and centrally located. The weather was perfect and the sun was not harsh. We finally took a stroll to eon mall on Orchard road.

Orchard road is such a delight and truly a shoppers paradise.  Shopping makes my heart sink. After so much wedding shopping I really didn't know where to splurge. It left me perplexed with so many malls and high end stores. I shopped lots from Forever 21 and H&M. The food here is mostly Asian and might not appeal to everyone.

Marina Bay Sands is something you cannot miss if in Singapore. There are swanky shopping places, huge casinos, best rooftop bar and massive infinity pool. You can get the taste of Las Vegas and surely all the fashionistas cant miss the lavish Louis Vuitton store overlooking the Singapore river.  So late evening we went all decked up to explore Marina Bay Sands. The cabs here are always available.
Hubby and I  loved the massive 24*7 casino with beverages and alcohol on the house. We had a boring dinner at an eatery inside casino as all the good restaurants shut early. Almost every dish comes with rice there which a big let down for me as I avoid unnecessary carbs.

On second day, we had a good breakfast in Hilton and headed out in high spirits to do all touristy things. Hubby has already been to Singapore several times and was more than happy to see me going gaga. We didn't have too much time to visit zoo or go to Universal Studios but we took a hop on hop off city tour for the entire day.
After lunch in the mall and some more retail therapy we boarded another bus which took us via Singapore flyer to Gardens By The Bay. Gardens By The Bay has space age bio-domes, whimsical structures and high-tech super-trees. Their musical night show took us to another world. Post the magical evening show we boarded the Singapore River Cruise to Clarke Quay which is buzzing with all the happening eateries and blaring music.

And after great memories and good times we left Singapore and headed back to the airport to board the flight to Cairns city (the city of Great Barrier Reef) in Australia. I do not want to bore you by writing more. Let me share my posting few pictures. XOXO. :)

Welcome by Hilton Hotel on Orchard Road for the honeymoon couple.
The spectacular view from Marina Bay Sands. All you see is spectacular river and twinkling city lights.
One cannot miss the biggest casino. Entry is free for all the non Singapore residents. I was truly dazzled by the sight of it. Dont forget to carry your passport.
My lunch on Day 1
The light show at Gardens By The Bay was breathtaking.
Lunch on day2. Healthy lunch in between shopping in food court at Eon Mall. I could not find many healthy options around.
All set to go to Marina Bay Sands for a sinful night!
