Indian Fashion Blog - Dimsum Fest at Spices JW Marriott

Here I am back with another post after a long time. I had been traveling and as usual busy with truck loads of work. I know how hard it is to manage full time job and blogging. I try to cram in all the social media time I can but it always seems less.
JW Marriott is part of Marriott International’s luxury portfolio and consists of beautiful properties in gateway cities. Whenever I used to travel to Mumbai it was my favorite place to go to. Recently there was a Dimsum fest at Spices in JW Marriott and I was lucky to be invited for the food tasting.

If you are a dimsum person and it is your comfort food then you must tantalize your taste buds with chef's Tenzin's crafted menu. These miniature explosions can surely soothe your grumpy olfactory nerves and satiate your culinary appetite.

The menu boasts of exotic varieties of dimsums that you would not even imagine. The dimsums were prepared and served in traditional bamboo steamers. There were varied delicacies to cater to varied preferences.

Some of the signature dimsums were Truffle Edamame Dumpling, White Radish Cake, Wild Mushroom Crystal Dumpling from the veg menu and Prawn & Crab Dumpling, Spanish Rolls with Prawn & Water Chestnut, Prawn & Chicken Sui Mai, Hargav Dumpling and Chocklet Bon from the non vegetarian menu.
Hot Chocolate Bun
Spinach Rolls with prawns and water chestnuts topped with black bean sauce
Truffle Edamame Dimsums
Chicken and Asparagus - Open faced steamed dumpling topped with nori
Table all set for a culinary feast of mouth watering dumplings and some wine.

What I like?
Few of their signature dimsums were executed to perfection with breakthrough flavors. It takes a lot of effort and commitment to prepare these miniature savories with right technique.

What I didn't like?
- I personally didn't like few dim-sums as they did skimp on ingredients. Some of the dumplings had too much dough and were thick.
- Although being a gourmet cuisine from high end hotel it is exorbitantly priced. However if dimsums is your kind of food then it is worth the indulgence.

Verdict:
I am not really a dims-um fan as white flour is not really a part of my diet.

  1. Those spinach roles look amazing! Even though I know most of the perils of including white flour in my daily meal plan, I fail to say 'no' to dumplings of any kind more often than not. Also, I still haven't been able to settle down here properly specially since I work 6 days a week. But planning to meet you up real soon.
