Weight Loss Tips - Fast and Easy ways to lose weight

1. Exercise
First and foremost Exercise is a must. The sedentary lifestyle is the major culprit for various diseases including obesity. Make sure you indulge in any form of cardiovascular activity. You can never lose weight without breaking a sweat. Workout at least 4-5 times a week.

2. Say NO to junk first time & every time!
Are your eating habits going haywire. Please stop bingeing on junk like chips, pizzas, burgers. Avoid sugary foods, fried foods, red meat. Rather make healthier choices, have whole grain sandwiches without cheese. If you are traveling pack your food from home.

3. Avoid king-sized meals
Have small six meals throughout that day instead of having three large meals.Your meals should be balanced and full of nutrients. Whatever calories you take should be distributed throughout the day, this way less insulin is released from your body and it will keep your blood sugar balanced and also control appetite. Also have your meals at a fixed time of the day.

4. Never skip Breakfast
Breakfast which is the first meal of the day is the most important meal. Make sure you have it within one hour of waking up. Have king-sized breakfast that will be filling and will get you energy to be active and not overeat rest of the day.

5. Water intake
Make sure you have at least 2-3 liters of water a day. Don't wait till you are thirsty. You don't drink water to quench your thirst, by the time you are already dehydrated. It is best weapon to detoxify your system. Also have it before you take your meals.

6. Inspiration
Who is your role model? You can pin up the pictures of him/her on the refrigerator or in your closet. So that you always feel motivated from within and never lose hopes.

7. Get a weight loss buddy
Get a friend who is also trying to lose weight. So that you don't get bored and can hit the gym together. Discuss your weight loss plans with him/her. You wont feel low or stressed because there are many people like you going through the same situation.
8. Cut down calories
To shed weight make sure you cut down at least 500 calories a day. Do you know one pound of body weight is equivalent to 3500 calories. So with calculation and cutting down few calories a day you can shed few pounds easily.

9. Sleep
7-8 hours sleep for an adult is vital. Improve your quality of sleep. Have a sound sleep to revitalize your soul. Never eat anything two hours before going to the bed. Whatever you eat will be deposited as fat in your body and moreover your body will stop functioning properly.

11. Slow and steady wins the race
Aim for losing not more than 2-3 kilos in a month or 1 pound in a week. This is the best strategy to make your weight loss permanent or you might end up gaining more weight in future.

12. Fat Burning Foods
Do you know there are some fat burning foods also? Have soy products in the form of milk or nuggets, cinnamon herbs. They fire up your digestion. You can put cinnamon in your coffee or in your oatmeal. Consumption of berries or grapefruit does the same as it is loaded with vitamin C. I have mentioned in details about the fat burning foods in my previous post.

13. Awareness
Understand your body requirements, get your BMR(Body Metabolism Rate) checked and how many calories you need to consume, about the nutrition labels and utilization of food pyramid. You will find many online health calculators.

14. Get a notebook
Initially it might be hard on you to make changes in your lifestyle immediately. But you can keep track of your eating habits and record it on daily basis. Gradually cut down on few things and you will learn to make healthy choices.

15. Cheat meal
You can indulge in a meal of your choice once in a blue moon. You wont feel deprived and it will keep you going. For example you can dollop one tablespoon of whipped cream over fresh fruits or have a bar of dark chocolate as a stress buster.

16. No bed tea
Instead of having tea or coffee in the morning, gulp down a glass of water. Put few drops of lemon. It's the perfect way to start the day. It lubricates and lets out all the digestive juices. You can have your morning tea later.

17. Forget sweetened artificial drinks
Most of the calories people consume are on these beverages. There is nothing good about these fizzy drinks loaded with sugar. Sugar is your biggest enemy. You can easily cut down calories by just drinking water instead. Rather put lemon in plain water or have drinks like 'jaljeera' or 'aam ka panna' during the summers.

18 Fresh fruits and vegetables 
There is nothing like fresh fruits and veggies. Have plenty of fruits instead of canned fruits or fruit juices. Have boiled or steamed veggies instead of cooking them. Canned vegetables and fruits are processed and devoid of half the vitamins. It's a perfect snack and is filling too. Consume cucumber, tomatoes and water melons. They are nothing but water and will curb your hunger too.

19. Dance, Yoga, Sports club
If you are not a gym person, join a dance class, take your dog for a walk, go cycling. Even one hour of swimming session can help you burn a lot of calories. Practicing yoga is the best form of exercise for a toned body and to keep you younger.

20. Avoid alcohol
Alcohol or smoking is the biggest culprit in sabotaging you weight loss efforts. You will never be able to cut down the flab off your body. Not only it will decrease your stamina but also impede your metabolism. Its high time! Get rid of those beer bellies.

  4. Hi, I love your blog. I'd like to add a few tips -

    1. Instead of eating 3 larger meals a day, eat 5 smaller meals, with your daily carb intake stations around the first 2 meals (breakfast, mid morning meal)

    2. Eat sweet potatoes. They are a GOOD carb, filled with fiber, Vitamins A,B6,C and potassium.

    3. Don't eat anything 4 hrs before you go to sleep. When you sleep with your tummy full, you gain weight really quickly.
