When Fat Man goes to the gym he likes to eat healthy and this was our mission to gorge on the "healthy" food we could dig in at Fat Mans Cafe. The cute and cozy place was swarming with crowd when we entered for a quick mid week meal.
Fat Mans Cafe is the baby of Rajiv Tandon who also owns Tryst nightclub in Lower Parel Phoneix mills. The vibrant ambience and bright interiors will perk you up on a gloomy day. A look through the menu reveals regular deli fare and more - an all day breakfast range, salads, burgers, appetizers, sandwiches and mains that include grills, pasta and some Mediterranean fare.
We ordered egg florentine that was presented neatly but was a let down. I got to know that whole wheat bread cannot be used for this egg dish. The chicken skewers were the usual. Still hungry, we ordered grilled chicken that was executed well but nothing extraordinary. I wish they could be little generous with veggies and have an option of brown rice or quinoa.
May be I think I didn't order right. I should have gone for a salad or a mezze platter or a spanish omelette. I was in no mood for a sweet splurge. Of late I have heard the food has improved and one must go and savor the desserts. After all, Fat Man's Cafe has to live up to its name.
Love the cute pin board
Grilled Chicken (My apologies for a blurry picture)
Eggs Florentine
Fat Man's Cafe is a chirpy and cute place but do not expect Fat Man's Cafe to take you on an unusual culinary journey.
What I like?
- Cute and cozy place that is perfect for a quick meal at anytime of the day.
- The awesome decor and moderately priced dishes win the brownie points.
What I didnt like?
- It is really cramped up and they surely cannot cater to large crowds.
- Few of the dishes can be underwhelming. Do not expect awe-inspiring food.

WOW, it seems that Rajiv Tandon has created an ultimate fat burning machine, nice post indeed. Yes, last but not the least wishing you a belated Happy Diwali.
