It was about time I try the "New York" Italian joint I heard so much about in the mall I visit so often. Serafina at palladium mall, Mumbai is  a classy, upscale, delicious Italian joint on the third floor. 

From the time I entered the place I was impressed with sleek interiors. A look through the menu reveals regular fare — soups, salads, appetizers and mains that comprise mostly pizza, pasta and risotto and desserts. Though as any nice Italian joint worth mentioning, their wine list was impressive, but instead I opted for plain water and my friend went for a mocktail — the cucumber cooler. According to my friend it lived up to it's name (order it without the sugar syrup thus avoiding the calories )

Next in line, the grilled chicken salad was perfect with a little pesto dressing. They didnt skimp on the ingredients and this was as yummy as a healthy salad can get. I couldn't ask for more.

The server highly recommended their signature pizza (Rabiola cheese, fontina, truffle cheese, truffle oil and sliced black truffle, 1500 INR) with oodles of cheese, so with a heavy heart my friend had the yummiest half a slice of pizza. I had a bite to make sense of their most expensive pizza which will melt in your mouth and entice your taste buds. A slice of life! 

I rather went in for our own customized penne pesto pasta which was as great as the server had said although nothing extraordinary. However, my heart goes to the simple red snapper served with sauteed spinach and veggies which was the star of the evening. It had substance, balance and flavor. We got the veggies instead of mashed potatoes. 

Sometimes it is all about simple food executed to perfection that is good enough to soothe your grumpy olfactory nerves.

What I like? 
My healthy picks (Guilt free indulgences) 
- Red snapper served with sauteed spinach and veggies 

- Serafina chicken salad — grilled chicken breast and mesclun, sun dried tomatoes, raisin and pine nuts. 
The portions were decent and they didn't skimp on the ingredients 

What I didnt like? 
- The place is nicely located in a mall but it looked little deserted on a weekday. 
- Since one could not order too many items there could be brunch buffet options for more footfalls.
