Culinary Delights - All roads lead to Vicinia Bar and Cafe

Just when you have had a hectic week all you want to do is soothe your frazzled nerves in a nice place and savor good food without compromising on your fitness regime.

Amidst all the hustle and bustle on the busy road, you see a quaint old European cafe in the heart of Kemps Corner. We walked into Vicinia Bar and Cafe for some healthy eats and to unwind ourselves. The place has a minimalistic decor with rustic setting. The ambience is lively and the 90’s music will surely mellow you down.

A look through the menu reveals regular fare - breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, grills and mains including lot of healthy dishes which takes away all the brownie points.

Quinoa is a nutrient rich grain and I was quick to order it without any qualms but it was not as exciting as the menu had talked them up to be. The hummus with whole wheat pita and lavash chips was presented well. However, the star of the evening was pesto chicken kebabs which sat on white plates. It was succulent and cooked to perfection.

With our tummies intrigued, we waited for our mains. While I savored braised chicken breast with couscous, my friend totally relished the whole wheat pasta.

It was not really thronged with people. The place has a lot of potential to be outstanding and I believe it is often overlooked on a busy road.

Verdict: A perfect place to unwind. Be it with good music, a cup of coffee, a  pint of beer or divine food for the gourmands.

"If you looking for culinary experience like no other, look no further than Vicinia Bar and Cafe!"
