Kolkata Fashion Week to endorse ‘Eco Fashion'



Fashion Week Kolkata is an initiative of integrating eastern India into the global fashion consisting of members from the international fashion landscape up and coming designers. The essence of Fashion Week Kolkata is to foster relationships create opportunity, encourange excellent in quality and essentially, integrate the vastly diversifies fashion industry in India. 
The Signature Premier Fashion Week Kolkata, scheduled to begin from September 14, 2012. The four-day event would showcase innovative designs and collections of nationally acclaimed designers and weavers from West Bengal. 
The theme of Kolkata Fashion Week 2012 is Eco Fashion. 
Venue: Park Hotel cradled in the heart of the city

The Fashion Week will open with the “Story of Weaves”
Renowned City Models will showcase Traditional Weaves by the Creative Designer Paromita Banerjee On Friday, 14th September 2012 at 2PM
At Galaxy, The Park, 17 Park Street, Kolkata 700016

Day One will also feature designer Abhishek Dutta with his last show at Priya Cinema Hall from 9:45pm onwards.
Fashion Week Kolkata Event Director, Yudhajit Dutta said making a move towards reviving the fashion industry of Kolkata, the event would cherish the ethnic roots of Indian fashion throwing a light on the weavers of West Bengal.
Top names from Indian fashion industry including Manish Malhotra and Narendra Kumar Ahmed as well as renowned city designers like Agnimitra Paul, Jotish Debnath, Soumitra Mondal, Paromita Bandopadhyay and Abhishek Dutta would present their designs at the four-day fashion gala.
While designer Jotish Debnath would be reintroducing ‘jamdani saris’, Sandip Mukheerjee, a designer from remote West Bengal, would focus on unique Khadi styles. Agnimitra Paul, participating in the event for the first time, would create a women-specific collection based on Madhubani paintings.

  1. wow I totally love wearing eco-friendly stuff and wherever possible but only eco-friendly products. Unfortunately u dont have very many good choices in eco-friendly stuff.
