Kolkata Diaries 1: Flury’s

I am having a little hard time coping with new life and most importantly, leaving all my work assignments and getting back to studies. But I need to gear up and I don’t know how often I will be able to update my blog now. *sob* Being an expat has its own pros and cons. I have been exploring this city and I feel the need to go to each and every place or else the city appears hostile to me.

Over the weekend I happened to go to Flurys. The moment you set your feet in Kolkata, the first thing you will hear is Flurys other than how bengalis eat fish. Flurys is one of the most famous and oldest places in Kolkata which was started by swiss gentlemen during the independence era. It is located on the crowded Park Street and the place has its own charm giving you a vintage feel. Though it is a tea-coffee restaurant you can go at anytime of the day for a quick bite. The inexhaustible menu has everything from english style breakfast to exotic desserts and cake varieties. There are sandwiches, grills, pastas and salads of your choice. The chocolates and pastries are to die for.
Although, it is an authentic restaurant reminiscent of 30s but my only quibble is that the place should be wifi enabled and they should be open till late.

Do pick some cookies and dry pastries. I bought some dark chocolates and truffle sugar free chocolates to take away.

Restaurant Details:

In other news, since I will be in Kolkata for 2 years I would like all the Kolkata Bloggers to send me their email address along with the blog links so that I can have them in my database for future events or blogger’s meet.
