Mumbai is Bleeding - Black Wednesday!

I had to write this to empty my mind and pour out my frustration on this platform. I mean I am so disturbed and moved. How could Mumbai be reeling again from the bomb blasts?

Trust me one can actually feel the agony of other people if you go through it. I could not get through to my sister for an hour who is studying in Mumbai. It so freaked me out. Anyway, she is safe and sound. But we are so vulnerable and can feel so helpless at times. Life is so cheap in India.

One terrorist attack in United States of America, they came into action. They found the culprit and executed him. The biggest terrorist of the world, who didn't only  bother States but every nation, was shot dead. Americans invaded Afghanistan even though 9/11 attack was by 'Non State actors'. And our nation could not even execute the terrorist who was caught in the camera and is being fed behind the bars.

And you hear the media mileage, It has got it all from conspiracy theories to propagandas and last but not the least even tangents like "blasts aimed at gujratis". The flashing statements like "act of cowardice" are not going to help.

One news channel is trying to outshine another. For god's sake where is the sensitivity of the journalists. It is not a breaking news or about TRPs. This is so obnoxious. You just gotta do your job with perfection and aplomb.

Then there is blame game. People blaming the inefficient government, condemning the security system and the cycle goes on. Where are Shiv Sena Leaders hiding? Who have been all over Mumbai chanting 'Mera Mumbai, Mera Mumbai’! The outrage is killing me. It is a vicious circle where everyone is lashing out on one another.

Icing on the cake is people think it is a big fat joke and cant resist rumor mongering. There was an influx of BBMs about bombs found in New Delhi. This is all just a sham. Sending Birthday celebration messages or black ribbon profile picture requests just sound gimmicky. And please it is not even his birthday. According to the sources someone put it up intentionally on Wikipedia.

Don't know whom to get mad at, people in the power or at the spineless cowards who indulge in such atrocities. But none of us give a darn as long as our lives are not in jeopardy.

I need answers. It really boggles me. We need to find a solution to this drama, terror and such heinous acts. May be our nation needs to follow the footsteps of Obama. At least we all can surrender to the moment and stand united than sitting at home and making a mockery out of every thing. Support each other, stand up for each other than standing against each other. We can help by donating, volunteering and spreading information rather than sermonizing.

I have gone berserk. In the end all I have left to say is so much pain and suffering in the world is unsparing and unrelenting.

All the Mumbaikars out their, stay calm especially when the emotions are running high and be safe. We are the fighters. Proud of the city but not of the leaders!

My condolences to the victims and I pray for the families that are affected. Rest in Peace.

  1. You have very well written about the dazzled media trying to reach the maximum peak of trp's of their channels by marketing news and interviewing and debating with people who are supposed to take action...!
overall the way you put was simply appealing and a question to raise concerning about the security and the value of one's life in India

  2. no doubt everyone will agree with you except our politicians.

We couldn't even hang one terrorist for the last 5 years. all is just the game of vote bank and nothing else. common man is suffering all this and these politicians don't even bother about this now.

really, there is no value for life in India. hundreds of people die every year in train mishaps but our government just watch to happen it again.

  3. Yes, I agree with you Sulaiman. What more?
Media mileage at its peak. They lack sensitivity and humanity. I could not bear the ghastly and gruesome pictures in the newspaper.

  5. Many Indian are feeling the same, but only few could express it like you have done here. Joining you in praying for those who suffered and hoping that common sense and peace will prevail in our world.
