Travel Diaries - Florence, Italy, Europe 2016 (4)
Alright, as promised in my previous post here are my travel escapades to Tuscany region (Sienna, San Gimignano, Chianti hills and the winery) including Pisa. We were in Florence for two days. All the details about accommodation I have already shared in my previous post.

Art, history, countryside, food. Tuscany has it all. If you only have one day free, book this Tuscany day trip from Florence to discover the region’s highlights with a local guide.

Travelling Tips:
- I have shared most of the tips in my previous post about Florence. However, make sure you book the tour in advance.
- Also, do not skip the Leaning tower of Pisa tour with skip-the-line access. It also includes the entry to Leaning Tower of Pisa and climbing all 7 floors which are tilted. I highly recommend visiting one of the seven wonders of the world for a few more dollars. It is totally worth the money.

The tour was perfect and you do not end up spending too much time anywhere. It was well planned and coordinated. We were also shown an interesting documentary about the sport that is very popular in Siena. You would know if you have seen the James Bond movie - Quantum of Solace.

The highlight of the tour was scrumptious organic lunch on the way to Chianti hills amidst the Tuscan farms and vineyards. The guide Lavina will consider your choices for the lunch if you are not a beef eater. There is free flowing Chianti wine to complement the delicious meal.
After lunch, you could enjoy the journey to San Gimignano with its medieval towers, cobbled streets and squares. You have to climb up the hill, explore the historic center and one must enjoy the world famous gelato.

Although the tour is for around 12 hours you would not even realise where the day goes by. Be prepared for a bit of walking. Lavina (our tour guide) took good care of everyone. We took this tour, it includes all the details: here
