Finally I watched this movie last weekend as the promotions were quite intriguing and interesting. Cocktail is a perfect mix of fashion, music, melodrama, exaggeration, laughter riots, hyperbole and love and desire in the modern world. It surely got me high in the beginning but sadly the frizz subsided after first half of the flick. The locales are amazing. The music is fab. Though the rom-com movie has got it all from wild and bold ‘Veronica’ (Deepika Padukone) to sweet and subtle ‘Meera’(Diana Penty). Somehow it did not manage to whip up the interest because it was mindlessly dragged.
This cocktail is a fizzy drink and frothy with cliched storyline. While the drama might not be realistic but surely trends are, and can be incorporated in your daily look. It packs serious fashion punch. Here is a rundown on some of my favorite picks.
Palazzos have been rage for a while now. They seem to be omnipresent. Pair with a top in monochromatic hues for a contrasting effect. A tall and slim frame in palazzos can make heads turn.
Neutrals are something most of the people wear when they don’t want to experiment with bold colors. They are chic, easy and effortless. A simple shirt spells tons of elegance.
Denims are versatile and the oldest of all the trends. Unparalleled and uneven distressing works the best. I know I am an obsessed shopaholic and above all it keeps me happy. Last week, I bought a pair of distressed denims from Vero Moda during the sale. It is worth every penny compared to the crappy stuff available during the sale season. Distressed denims certainly give an air of effortless and chic vibe.
Stripes, be it horizontal or vertical are perfect for that immaculate sense of dressing. This trend has been tweaked by tons of designers on the runaway. 'The lines of Fashion' speak oodles of fun and take a simple outfit to a whole new level. You can never go wrong with them. I recently bought few tees from Zara and from Tommy Hilfiger. Deepika is wearing this dress from FCUK in the movie. Go check out the nearest stores.
So, How many of you cant stop raving about this movie?
